Micah House is a non profit organization located in NorthWest DC that provides temporary shelter and help for previously homeless women.
It was established by Temple Micah in April 1989 and opened its doors April 1990

Today, Micah House is a pleasant, safe and affordable home for up to five women.  All residents have completed a detoxification program, are free of drugs and hold down jobs or attend school.  A social worker affiliated with a private organization counsels the residents, facilitates house meetings and helps them to utilize existing social services. 

With gentle guidance, the women are directed back into mainstream society.  Through the years, 30 women have called Micah House "Home" and are now leading happy and productive lives.
